Checkup Week 28 @Hospital Likas

Mari mulakan cerita dengan

melihat Gunung Kinabalu dari rumah aku sebelum keluar ke Hospital Likas tadi

:D

Turun dari rumah dalam pukul 8 pagi. Sampai hospital dekat-dekat pukul 9 kot. Aku lupa nak tengok jam haih.. Semalam beria-ia nak timing la apela.. sekali lupa.. Tapi aku rasa lebih kurang sejam jugakla nak sampai tadi, sebab jammed orang nak pegi keje.

Takde gambar hospital dari luar. Panassss.. malas nak keluarkan henpon, kang orang kata ape pulak haha.. Oh ye, Hospital Likas ni sebenarnya, Hospital Kanak-kanak dan Wanita. Patutla nak beranak sume kena datang sini. Baru ku tahuuuuuu....

Memula masuk pegi Klinik Pakar O&G. Pastu aku disuruh daftar dulu kat Kaunter Pendaftaran & Unit Hasil.

Dah siap daftar masuk balik Klinik O&G. Kena test air kencing & timbang berat. My urine is clean & berat, 72.5kg hoho.. Dok takat tu je.. Bila nak naik nih hihi...

Lepas tu nurse panggil, soal siasat sikit-sikit then tunggu giliran dipanggil masuk jumpa pakar. Nasib baik tak lama menunggu sebab aku ada referral letter, jadinye tak campur dengan yang datang untuk checkup biasa.

Masa masuk jumpa doktor, hubby tunggu kat luar je. Aku ingat dalam bilik tu ada sorang doktor je. Rupanya ada 3 orang doktor! Katil ada satu je. So kalo nak scan, nak check perut, kena ikut giliran. Sementara tunggu turn aku tu, doktor tanyala a few questions.

Doktor cakap dia akan scan and tengok kat mana kedudukan placenta tu. Kalau kat bawah, aku memang takleh deliver normal, kena operate. Huu sadis.

Oh aku ada bagitau aku ada discharge. Warna putih, berketul macam susu basi. Doktor suspect jangkitan kulat. Jadi dia akan amik sample, hantar kat makmal tengok ada infection tak. At the same time dia bagi ubat untuk dimasukkan dalam vagina.

Inilah ubatnye. Sebijik je.

Kena masukkan kat dalam vagina, lepas tu kena baring, takleh bangun.

Kalo tak nanti dia jatuh balik hihihi..

So, kena masukkan sebelum tido.

Haih ada jugak ubat macam ni....

Entah camane la nak masukkan malam ni huuuuu...

Tadi kenala masukkan speculum sebab nak amik sample kan. Alhamdulillah tak sakit, pandai doktor tu hihih...

Oh ye, aku kena buat MGTT lagi on 32 weeks checkup huu.. Sebabnya doktor kata sometimes infection ni boleh disebabkan oleh kencing manis. So just nak make sure kena buat lagi sekali. Adei lemah betul aku.. Kalo 32 weeks, 17 Januari nantila. 

Takpe, tinggal dulu yang tu.. Tibalah part yang ditunggu-tunggu. SCAN! Hehehe lamanye mama tak tengok darling mama nihhh.. Last sekali scan masa week 20 di Putrajaya. 

Memula doktor cari placenta, and, ALHAMDULILLAH, placenta berada di lokasi yang betul. Kat atas dan tak menutupi laluan. Makanya blehla bersalin normal nanti, insyaallah. Possibility untuk placenta turun tu takde kecuali ada bleeding lagi, aku kena cepat-cepat check. Senyum lebaaarrrr ^____^

Then aku tanya doktor, nak tengok gender baby bleh doktor?? hihihihih...

Doktor kata blehhh.. Doktor turun bawah sket pastu.... towwww diaaaaaaaaa..nampakkk.. ekekekeke...

Darling daughter ke darling son??

Biarlah rahsia hahahahahaha..... Saje kasi saspen kan. nanti nantila aku bagitau hihihi...

Then doktor ukur-ukur baby. Dah besar dah anak mama... Estimated weight ialah 1.4kg. Wah wah.. cepat sungguh membesar :) Membesar lah lagi dengan sihat dan kuat ye sayang :)

Aku tanya doktor pasal penyakit kulit yang aku ada time kecik and whether baby bleh dijangkiti tak. Doktor kata kalau penyakit tu takde kena mengena dengan darah, baby takkan kena. Dalam kes aku, aku kena fungal infection pada kulit, maknanye sakit tu kat luar je. So, insyaallah baby takkan ada penyakit yang sama..

Sekian sudah kisah checkup. Happy sebab semuanya baik-baik belaka. Dah tau gender baby hehe.. Suka suka.. Harap-harapnye betul la yang aku nampak tu :D

Antenatal class aku dah daftar. Akan pergi pada Januari nanti. Husband kena ikut sama :) Tak sabar pulak rasanya..

Esok Nak Ke Hospital Likas

Assalamualaikum,

Esk pagi-pagi after hubby balik dari keje (hubby on duty malam ni), nak pergi ke Hospital Likas. Tujuan utama ialah untuk buat follow up checkup on my placenta previa case. Masa minggu 20 dah scan dengan doktor kat KKIA P9, Putrajaya. Alhamdulillah masa tu placenta dah kat atas. Tapi aku still kena buat follow up kat Hospital Putrajaya on week 28. Kira final checking la.. Tapi disebabkan minggu 28 ni (which is this week) aku dah kat Sabah, Hospital Putrajaya pun dah bagi referral letter untuk aku pegi mana-mana hospital di Sabah untuk buat checkup ni..

Appointment di Hospital Putrajaya ialah pada 20 Disember. Aku follow jela date ni.

Kenapa aku pilih Hospital Likas? Sebab kat Sabah ni, nak beranak, kat Hospital Likas je. I was told that Hospital Queen Elizabeth tak accept. Dia akan suruh pergi Hospital Likas jugak. Erm mothers from Sabah, if my info ni salah tolong betulkan ye :) Rumah aku actually only 1km away from Hospital Tuaran. Tapi sama jugak, dorang takkan accept. Kat Hospital Tuaran cuma ada Pusat Bersalin Alternatif. Meaning yang dah nak beranak sangat-sangat je kot dorang accept. Kalo first baby memang dorang akan hantar ke Likas. Maybe tak cukup kepakaran. I don't know lah... Hospital Angkatan Tentera dalam base Navy tu pun sama, tak accept jugak. Hubby pun cakap HAT Sepangar ni tak sama macam HAT kat Lumut. HAT Lumut memang besarla. Yang kat sini kecik je.. Macam pusat kesihatan biasa je...

Aku ada tanya wife kawan hubby yang baru je bersalin kat Hospital Likas. Dia kata hospital tu ok je, doktor baik-baik, nurse pun baik-baik.. 

Selain daripada nak check placenta aku tu, aku nak daftar sekali. Daftar bersalin kat sana, insyaallah. Kalau ada kelas antenatal, nak daftar jugak. Memang bagus pegi kelas ni kan. Especially for first time mother ni.. Sekurang-kurangnya kita taula camne nak breathe, camne nak push etc... Takdela bila betul-betul jadi kita panik tak tau nak buat ape. Moga-moga kelas ni dapat membantu nanti. Nak ajak hubby join sekali. So that he's involved in this pregnancy journey. All this while memangla dia banyak membantu aku tapi ni la kemuncaknya kan. To assist and support me during the birthing process. Oh ye, kawan hubby tu cakap, kalo register nanti hubby bleh masuk dalam labour room. Okla tu kan? Biasanya government hospital tak bagi spouse masuk. Tapi kan... hubby aku macam a bit reluctant nak masuk. Takut darah katanya hahaha.. Aku selalu cakap dengan dia, "ala nanti abang pegang tangan sayang je. Janganla gi jenguk yang kat bawah tu ehehehe..." Hopefully dia ada keberanian nak teman aku dalam labour room nanti...

Aku ada beberapa soalan nak tanya doktor esok..

1. How's my placenta? Kat atas ke kat bawah? Bleh deliver normal tak?

2. How's my baby doing?

3. Boleh check gender baby tak? hihihi...

4. I have vaginal discharge. Boleh doc check whether it's normal or ada infection?

5. Masa saya kecik-kecik dulu, saya ada penyakit kulit. Penyakit tu boleh turun kat anak tak?

Err setakat ni tu je yang ada dalam kepala. And hopefully esok, semua soalan ni ada dalam kepala. Aku takut lupa je, senarai je lebih haha.. Sekali jumpa doktor, terus blank tak tau nak tanya ape.. It always happens to me!

Oh ye, esok juga, nak tengok berapa minit amik masa nak ke Hospital Likas tu dari rumah. Nak timing siap-siap..

Dan esok juga saya isytiharkan sebagai hari dating bersama suami! Hihi dating kat hospital. Bagus betul. Hopefully orang tak ramai dan hopefully juga dorang accept aku untuk jumpa doktor esok walaupun tanpa appointment. Aku main redah je ni. Janganla nanti dia suruh datang lain kali huhu.. Hubby takleh selalu keluar time keje. Ni pon dia dah mintak pelepasan awal-awal. Kalau nak kena pegi balik next time, aku kena drive sendiri la huhu......

Doakan aku ye, doakan plasenta aku kat atas dan aku boleh deliver normal, insyaallah. Doakan juga urusan aku di hospital esok berjalan dengan lancar :)

Placenta Previa

Placenta previa is a complication of pregnancy in which the placenta grows in the lowest part of the womb (uterus) and covers all or part of the opening to the cervix.

The placenta is the organ that nourishes the developing baby in the womb.

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

During pregnancy, the placenta moves as the uterus stretches and grows. In early pregnancy, a low-lying placenta is very common. But as the pregnancy progresses, the growing uterus should "pull" the placenta toward the top of the womb. By the third trimester, the placenta should be near the top of the uterus, leaving the opening of the cervix clear for the delivery.

Sometimes, though, the placenta remains in the lower portion of the uterus, partly or completely covering this opening. This is called a previa.

There are different forms of placenta previa:

• Marginal: The placenta is against the cervix but does not cover the opening.
• Partial: The placenta covers part of the cervical opening.
• Complete: The placenta completely covers the cervical opening.

Placenta previa occurs in 1 out of 200 pregnancies. It is more common in women who have:

• Abnormally developed uterus
• Many previous pregnancies
• Multiple pregnancy (twins, triplets, etc.)
• Scarring of the uterine wall caused by previous pregnancies, cesareans, uterine surgery, or abortions

Women who smoke or have their children at an older age may also have an increased risk. Possible causes of placenta previa include:

• Abnormal formation of the placenta
• Abnormal uterus
• Large placenta
• Scarred lining of the uterus (endometrium)

Symptoms

The main symptom of placenta previa is sudden, painless vaginal bleeding that often occurs near the end of the second trimester or beginning of the third trimester. In some cases, there is severe bleeding, or hemorrhage. The bleeding may stop on its own but can start again days or weeks later.

There may be uterine cramping with the bleeding. Labor sometimes starts within several days after heavy vaginal bleeding. However, in some cases, bleeding may not occur until after labor starts.

Signs and tests

Your health care provider can diagnose placenta previa with an ultrasound exam. Most cases of placenta previa are identified by routine ultrasound during pregnancy.

Treatment

Treatment depends on various factors:

• How much bleeding you had
• Whether the baby is developed enough to survive outside the uterus
• How much of the placenta is covering the cervix
• The position of the baby
• The number of previous births you have had
• Whether you are in labor

Many times the placenta moves away from the cervical opening before delivery.

If the placenta is near the cervix or is covering a portion of it, you may need to reduce activities and stay on bed rest. Your doctor will order pelvic rest, which means no intercourse, no tampons, and no douching. Nothing should be placed in the vagina.

If there is bleeding, however, you will most likely be admitted to a hospital for careful monitoring.

If you have lost a lot of blood, blood transfusions may be given. You may receive medicines to prevent premature labor and help the pregnancy continue to at least 36 weeks. Beyond 36 weeks, delivery of the baby may be the best treatment.

If your blood type is Rh-negative, you will be given anti-D immunoglobulin injections.

Your health care providers will carefully weigh your risk of ongoing bleeding against the risk of an early delivery for your baby.

Women with placenta previa most likely need to deliver the baby by cesarean section. This helps prevent death to the mother and baby. An emergency c-section may be done if the placenta actually covers the cervix and the bleeding is heavy or very life threatening.

Expectations (prognosis)

Placenta previa is most often diagnosed before bleeding occurs. Careful monitoring of the mother and unborn baby can prevent many of the significant dangers.

The biggest risk is that severe bleeding will require your baby to be delivered early, before major organs, such as the lungs, have developed.

Most complications can be avoided by hospitalizing a mother who is having symptoms, and delivering by C-section.

Complications

Risks to the mother include:

• Death
• Major bleeding (hemorrhage)
• Shock

There is also an increased risk for infection, blood clots, and necessary blood transfusions.

Prematurity (infant is less than 36 weeks gestation) causes most infant deaths in cases of placenta previa. The baby may lose blood if the placenta separates from the wall of the uterus during labor. The baby also can lose blood when the uterus is opened during a C-section delivery.

Calling your health care provider

Call your health care provider if you have bleeding from the vagina at any point in your pregnancy. Placenta previa can be dangerous to both you and your baby.

Prevention

This condition is not preventable.

I may have this complication because I had slight bleeding this morning and my placenta is low and covering my cervix. But doctor said it's still early to tell because I'm now in my early stage of 2nd trimester. Gonna check again on 18th and 28th weeks. As for now, Doctor treated it as a threaten miscarriage.
